So this year (2020), in the midst of all things Covid-19, we decided to get a ready to race (RTR) R/C car from Traxxas at one of our local hobby shops, Big Boys with Cool Toys and this thing is a blast to play with. Already owning an older Traxxas 1/10 T-Maxx nitro monster truck, our boys have been itching to get something like that to play with. However, our boys are just getting into the R/C thing and this is a good start for them since it's electric, so no need for messy nitro clean ups, and it's not huge; we got the Traxxas 1/16 Summit so they can bash this thing cause it can take a beating.
But with anything R/C or car related, it's time to get this thing "suped-up"!
Traxxas Wheelie Bar (part #7184)
First thing they ask for? A wheelie bar for no other reason than this thing can pop wheelies, but ends up on it's backside because it flipped. This is just what the doctor ordered and now the truck can pop those wheelies without breaking a sweat...or it's back.
Traxxas Micro Metal Gear Servo (Part #2080X)
Next up in the list of upgrades is to fix a partially broken original steering servo that was making a lot of clicking noises due to broken plastic spurs to a more beefy servo. Enter the all metal gear servo from Traxxas and that thing has been miles better for the truck with quicker steering response and stronger turns. Definitely a worthwhile upgrade for us the way these boys bash this thing.
We're excited to get these next parts installed.
